(00-8)  BEDFORD - HAMLETT - JOHNS:
I am descended from Sarah Anne HAMLETT, daughter of Stephen Bedford and Mary (JOHNS) HAMLETT.  [NOTE:  Her line is:  (Thomas?) and Elizabeth (?) FLIPPEN - Elizabeth (FLIPPEN) BEDFORD - Stephen BEDFORD, Jr. - Rebecca (BEDFORD) HAMLETT - Stephen Bedford HAMLETT.]  The book "The Bedford Family of Virginia" listed the names of 10 children of Stephen and Mary HAMLETT:  William Johns, Dianishia Hedselph, Emily Frances, Joel Flippen, George Whitfield, Sally Ann, Edwin Bruce, Elizabeth, James Bruce and Stephen Bedford.  I have been able to locate all of these children in either TN or TX, however, have found nothing that states that these are the children of Stephen and Mary except Joel, James and Stephen who are on the 1850 census with Mary.  Does anyone have references identifying the 10 children of Stephen and Mary or any suggestions?  Any help is appreciated.

(00-9)  FLIPPEN - DURHAM - DOWDY - TRENT:
Allen P. FLIPPEN, son of Henry Garrett and Susan A. (DURHAM) FLIPPEN, married Maria Susan DOWDY on 11 Jan 1855 in Cumberland Co., VA.  Allen's uncle, James T. FLIPPEN (son of Thomas FLIPPEN and his second wife, Martha TRENT), married Lucy J. DOWDY in Cumberland Co., VA on 16 Oct 1862.  Does anyone know the parents of these DOWDY ladies?

(00-10)  FLIPPIN:
I am the daughter of Larry FLIPPIN, who is the son of the late Carl Dean and Helen Marie FLIPPIN and brother of Gary and Lonnie FLIPPIN.  We all live in the Lima, OH area.  My Grandpa FLIPPIN came from California, MO area.  My grandpa Dean FLIPPIN was one of ten or eleven children, I cannot remember how many there were exactly.  The names I can remember were Opal, Faye, Helen, Ray, Dean, Roy, Glenn, Gene, Dale and Gayle FLIPPIN.  I think my great-grandma FLIPPIN's name was May FLIPPIN and my great-grandpa, or it may have been my great-great-grandpa's name was Grant Lee FLIPPIN.  I was just wondering if anyone knows if we are related or not?  I was also curious if anyone knew where the FLIPPIN name came from, where it originated?
Jennifer Lang -- dlang@bright.net
[This line is obviously from the family of Thomas Jefferson FLIPPIN whose family and descendants settled in MO, including some in California, MO.  Not having any dates for the early ancestors, it is possible that one of the sons listed in the Flippin online book was the father of Grant Lee FLIPPIN.  The censuses should help in locating the right family.]

(00-11)  FLIPPIN - JONES:
Trying to find out where my family came from and who I might be related to.  My grandfather was William Henry FLIPPIN.  He married Martha Ellen JONES, born 3 Mar 1884.  I know they lived in TX most if not all of their lives.  I have been told that Flippin, AR was named after our family.  Also have found Flippin, TN.  Please if anyone has any information, please e-mail me.
Debbie Flippin Perry Barbee -- [need current e-mail address]
[Debbie, you will find several William Henrys and William H. in the FLIPPIN online book.  Provide dates and locations for your family as well as their children and it will help narrow down the search for the right family.]

(00-12)  FLIPPEN - SANDERS?:
Interested in finding someone with information on Lucinda FLIPPEN, born in KY c1816-18.  Possibly married in AR to a SANDERS.
H. Williamson -- olvw@admin.hilconet.com
[Where did Lucinda live or which census record was she listed on?  By knowing where she lived might help find her family.]
