(01-2) FLIPPIN - VAUGHN - McCLAIN - TOMERLIN:
My husband's grandmother was Mary Ellen FLIPPIN, born 1 Oct 1841 and died 3 Aug 1906. She was the daughter of Joseph and Eliza FLIPPIN of Giles Co., TN. The 1850 census listed six children: Mary Ellen, Tabitha, Joseph, Emma, William and Mozella. Mary Ellen married William O. VAUGHN 7 Feb 1866. Mozella married John TOMERLIN 27 Jun 1866. Another sister married a McCLAIN. There was a death notice from a Nashville (TN) paper that said Mary Ellen died at her home.
