Seeking information on my father's parents and family. Carl James FLIPPIN was born 21 Oct 1921 in Cotter, AR and died 5 Feb 1976 in St. Louis, MO. His siblings were Bill, Mike, Perry (a.k.a. Pete), Margret (married COPLIN) and Ola (married HUDDELSTON). Carl married Virginia Bessie GRINDSTAFF on 11 Dec 1954 and had two children, Carl James Jr. and Diane Jeane.I know my dad was related to Jay C. FLIPPEN, the actor, because when Jay died in 1972, my dad and his family inherited money from him. How is my dad related to Jay?Would appreciate any information. Seeking James Alfred FLIPPIN whose wife Sarah WYKLE came to the States as an indentured servant from Ireland. I was told that she worked 7 years to pay her way. I have no dates for James or Sarah. Their children were George Emanuel (oldest son, born 4 Mar 1872 in Hinton or Alderson, WV), Iverson, Will, Mary and Lizy. They were said to have lived in VA, possibly in the areas of Richmond or Roanoke. Some of James' siblings may have moved to CA. Mary lived in Ashland, KY or OH where she owned a laundry, movie house, etc., and she was single. Iverson had a restaurant in Hinton, WV. Some lived in Charleston, WV. Any information appreciated! [NOTE: WV was created in 1863 from VA.]

Seeking any information on Lillie Mae FLIPPIN, born 3 Jan 1905 in Gibson Co., TN to William Albert FLIPPIN (b. 1861) and Arpie Florence (DOWLAND) FLIPPIN (b. 1867). Lillie married Arthur BATES and lived in the Skullbone area of Gibson Co., TN until late 1930's or early 1940's. Had several brothers and sisters: Edward, Ocie, Lonnie, Thomas, Robert and Bessie (my mother). Lillie left Gibson Co., TN and was not heard of since.

Seeking information on George L. FLIPPIN (3 Mar 1880 - 17 Jul 1953), son of Thomas Lafayette flippin (1844 - 1902) and Samantha Jane CONNEL or Sarah Jane McCONAL (1859 - 1940). George's siblings were Joseph (b. 1876), William T. (b. 1877), Charles B. (b. 1883), Minnie (b. 1886), Luckie (b. 1890), Albert (b. 1892) and Eugene (b. 1898). George's first wife was Maude SMITH (20 May 1882 - 4 Dec 1954), daughter of Henry SMITH and Frances MORRIS. Maude and George had one son, Earnest Lee FLIPPIN, who was in vaudeville in 1930 and 1940 and used the name "Happy Jack O'Brien." He also did Black Face. He died of 1st and 2nd degree burns at Newberry, SC in May 1942. He lived in TN, AR and MO. Will share information.
