William Reuben FLIPPIN was born 1834 in GA and died 20 Feb 1904 in Wichita Falls, Wichita Co., TX. He married Mary BINGHAM who died before 1880. They lived in the counties of Ellis, Limestone, Brown, Eastland and Wichita, all in TX and he served during the Civil War.
He had a sister, Virginia, who signed his Civil War pension application. She was married to H. S. Warring, MD.

He married 24 Apr 1883 in Belle Plain, Callahan Co., TX to Mary Elizabeth Sara Jane DOUGLASS, daughter of William J. and Margret Ann (DAVIS) DOUGLASS. Mary was born 17 Sep 1867 in TN and died near Pioneer on 21 Jul 1947. Elijah and Mary are buried in Pioneer.
