James Alfred FLIPPIN married Sarah WYKLE who came to United States as a 15 year old "indegent (indentured?)" servant from Ireland. She was said to have worked 7 years to pay her way. Their children were George Emanuel (b. 4 Mar 1872 Hinton, WV), Iverson, Will, Mary and Lizy? They lived in VA and later in Charleston, WV. Mary was said to have lived in Ashland, KY or OH. Iverson had a restaurant in Hinton, WV. James Alfred FLIPPIN was said to be from England but could also be from Richmond or Roanoke, VA.

Fanny BISHOP, daughter of John and Sarah Ann BISHOP, was born 20 Feb 1863 in Climax Springs, Camden Co., MO and died 4 Dec 1945 Sedalia, Pettis Co., MO. Buried at Crown Hill Cemetery. She married Ab FLIPPIN and their son was McKinley FLIPPIN who married Bonnie _____.

Barbara Elizabeth PRINE, daughter of Joseph William and Mary Jane (WILLIAMS) PRINE, was born 3 Apr 1855 in MO and married William Garland FLIPPIN on 3 Jan 1872.
Elizabeth Jane ANDREW, daughter of Elias and Cynthia (PRINE) ANDREW, was born 21 Jan 1863 (in MO) and married first to William Garland FLIPPIN. Her second husband was W. G. SWEARINGIN.

There was a Summer FLIPPIN in the 1897-1903 Monroe Co., KY school census. He would have been born circa 1881. He was listed with F. M. FLIPPIN as a parent or guardian. An obituary from the "Daily News Journal" of Murfreesboro, TN dated 24 Jan 1999 showed a listing for Harry FLIPPIN, 83, of LaFayette, who died 22 Jan 1999. He was buried at Macon County Memorial Gardens. Harry, a native of KY, was the son of the late Sumner and Dona (PERRIGO) FLIPPIN. He was survived by his wife, Christine HOLLAND, and their children: Betty Sue MEADOR, Pat SCHWEM, Bill FLIPPIN and Harry FLIPPIN, Jr.
