(02-2)  FLIPPEN:
Looking for information on Grace Jewel FLIPPEN, born 22 Aug 1915 in Fort Worth, TX.  Her father was James S. FLIPPEN, born in TX, and her mother was Willie P., last name unknown.  I found them on 1920 TX census.  Her siblings were:  W. Vernus (b. 1904), Burton T. (1905), Jessie A. (1907), James M. (1910), Berltra (1912), and Bertie (1914).  All of the children and their father were born in TX and their mother in KY.
Pam Miller -- batrest@hubwest.com
[NOTE by Nova:  This is the line researched by James Michael Flippen (e-mail address needed).  Information shows that Grace's parents were James Seth FLIPPEN and Willie Pearl SHERRILL.  James Seth was son of James S. FLIPPEN and Mary Jane HARKINS.  Please contact Pam if you have more information on this family.]

(02-3) FLIPPIN - SMITH:
Looking for information on Eliga FLIPPIN (20 Oct 1865 - 23 Oct 1930) who married Mary Elizabeth SMITH (17 Sep 1867 - 21 Jul 1947). Their son was Robert Hugh FLIPPIN (12 Apr 1879 - 25 Nov 1937).  This family lived in Pioneer, Eastland Co., TX.
Toni Boling -- osur216@classicnet.net
[NOTE by Nova:  This is an unidentified family.  Eliga appears on 1900 and 1910 Eastland Co. censuses as Elijah.  He was born in TX.  The 1910 census show his father-in-law, William J. Douglas, living with them.  Robert H. Flippin was also born in TX and listed on both census records.  The 1900 census showed him living with John H. Shiff as brother-in-law (Robert's wife was Frances G. Shipp).  Eliga / Elijah could not be Robert's father because they are about 14 years apart.  The census records show them 10-11 years apart.  It is likely they were brothers.  I was not able to locate them on a 1880 TX census index but I did find a 3 year old Robert Flippan and 8 year old Kate Flippan living in the household of F. A. and Nancy Burleson in Brown Co., TX.  This should be checked into.]

(02-4)  FLIPPEN:
I am searching for information on a James "Jim" FLIPPEN, born 1865 in TN.  Areas of Carthage (Smith Co.), Gallatin (Sumner Co.) and Nashville (Davidson Co.) is where it is believed he lived.  His father's name is unknown, but he was supposed to have been a medical doctor, who was white.  Any clues would be much appreciated.
Jean Wynne -- [need current e-mail address]
[Note by Nova:  You need to try to find them on a 1870 census since Jim would be about 5 years old and still at home.  I do not have the 1870 TN census index for FLIPPEN / FLIPPIN, but the 1860 TN census index showed several living in Davidson Co.:  Anna (p. 247, Dist. 15), Corra (p. 357, Dist. 15), Hiram (p. 247, Dist. 15), James (p. 472, Nashville Ward 8), Nancy (p. 472, Nashville Ward 8), Sarah (p. 247, District 15), Tillman (p. 247, Dist. 15), William H. (p. 361, Nashville Ward 3), and William S. (p. 357, Nashville, Ward 3).  There weren't any Flipp*ns in Smith Co. or Sumner Co. so your best bet is Davidson Co.  Check the 1870 Davidson Co. census.  An 1870 TN census index will provide page numbers.  It would be logical for Jim's father to be a doctor in a city.  When you find his parents, check the Flippin online book or contact me.]

(02-5)  FLIPPEN:
Seeking information on Tillman FLIPPEN's plantation.  I believe my ancestors were from that plantation.  Most of my ancestors from that plantation were mulattos.  Please send me anything that you may have about the African-American side of the Flippen family.

(02-6)  FLIPPEN - TOMERLIN:
Looking for information on Mosella "Ella" FLIPPEN, born 1849 in Pulaski, Giles Co., TN.  I know she married John W. Francis TOMERLIN.  They had 7 children.  I am interested in Mosella's parents.  Hoping someone has the information.  Thanks!
