(99-10)  FLIPPIN - CLARK - BUTTS:
Need date and place of marriage and divorce of Judge William Baugh FLIPPIN (1817 KY - 1906 AR) and Mrs. Rachel CLARK BUTTS (16 Oct 1829 AR - 12 Jan 1919 OK), widow of Henry Glen BUTTS.  The best I can deduce from Goodspeed is that both events took place between 1884 and 1889 either in Marion Co. or Johnson Co., AR.  Thank you so much for any help.

(99-11)  FLIPPEN - ELAM - CROWDER:
Daniel FLIPPEN married Segnora ELAM c1832 in Powhatan Co., VA.  Segnora was the daughter of Essex and Lavinia (CROWDER) ELAM.  Daniel and Segnora moved to E. Baton Rouge, LA.  He died between the 1850 and 1860 censuses.  Does anyone know who this Daniel FLIPPEN was?

Joseph FLIPPEN married Elizabeth CASHON c1830 probably in Chesterfield Co., VA.  I think she was the daughter of David CASHON and Sarah HARVELL.  Any information appreciated.

[Note by Nova:  A query was posted on this couple by Barb Ward in the Vol. 11 of FLIPPING FLIPPINS.  Joseph FLIPPEN (1807-1859 Giles Co., TN) was listed as a possible son of William and Tabitha FLIPPEN of Giles Co., TN.  Elizabeth was born 1811 in VA and died before 1847.  I do not have a current e-mail address for Barb Ward.
An earlier query was posted in FLIPPING FLIPPINS (Vol. 2) by Tressie Nealy who listed Elizabeth (c1811 VA - 17 Nov 1852 Giles Co., TN) as daughter of Samuel CASHION and Elizabeth WILKINSON.  Elizabeth WILKINSON was the daughter of Mack WILKINSON and Mary JACKSON.  Mack and Mary had another daughter, Judith WILKINSON, who married James SOUTHALL and had two daughters who married FLIPPENs:  Mary (1802-1879) married Jesse S. FLIPPEN in 1826; and Julia Ann (1805-1885) married Phillip H. FLIPPEN in 1835.  I identified Jesse and Phillip as sons of Jacob and Frances (ARMISTEAD) FLIPPEN.  Tressie Nealy may be reached at tlnealy@aol.com.]

(99-13)  FLIPPEN - RHODES; FLIPPEN - WHITNER:
Seeking additional information and descendants of Edith FLIPPEN who married 17 Jun 1940 to Thomas Allen RHODES (28 Apr 1910 - 10 Jul 1992 Cartersville, VA).  And also information and descendants of Mary FLIPPEN (b. MS?) who married Elias Eugene WHITNER, Jr.  Elias' father was from SC and his sister was born in 1870.  Any information appreciated.

(99-14)  FLIPPEN - HOBSON - FOUTCH:
Researching descendants of Abner and Eliza (HOBSON) FLIPPEN, married 11 Oct 1826 in Cumberland Co., VA.  Abner was born 1798 and Eliza 1806, both in VA.  1850 Smith Co., TN (Carthage) census lists Abner (age 52), Eliza (44), and three children - George (22), Nancy (16) and Henry (6).  Henry married Sarah FOUTCH of Alexandria, TN.  One of their sons, James Rucker FLIPPEN, was my grandfather.  Would like to exchange information on this FLIPPEN line and particularly interested in where in Europe they originated from.

(99-15)  FLIPPEN - WREN:
Looking for anyone who may know of a Edythe Ophelia FLIPPEN of Richmond, VA.  She was born either 1901 or 1902 and was a good friend of my late great-aunt, Thelma (VAUGHAN) REYNOLDS.  FLIPPEN was Edythe's maiden name and she did marry, but I don't have her husband's name right now.  If anyone recognizes her name, please let me know.  Thank you.  [Additional information as of 7/12/99:  Edythe and her sister, Elizabeth, signed a guest book and they both apparently married men with the surname of WREN.]

(99-16)  FLIPPIN - HOSKINS - WARREN - BRIDGES:
Unfortunately my information is very sketchy.  All I know about my possible FLIPPIN is that her name was Susannah, b. 30 Jan 1796 and d. 7 Mar 1877 Pelahatchie, Rankin Co., MS.  She married William HOSKINS and they had at least one son, Henry, who married Tobitha WARREN.  Susannah was the first internment in the Pelahatchie Cemetery and has a special monument.  I have been told that her maiden name was either FLIPPIN or BRIDGES.  If any of this sounds familiar, please let me know!  Thanks.
